Community Education, Legislation & Support

Getting to Zero

Getting-to-Zero-Button.png

Community Education, Legislation & Support provides knowledge and sets the standards for all of the stakeholders to prevent animals from being abandoned.

The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA has received proclamations or declarations form the cities that we serve who believe together we can save every adoptable pet in our care. They have committed to implement city ordinances to help residents become more responsible pet owners such as mandatory microchipping. A microchip is a permanent form of identification increasing a lost pets chance of being reunited with thier owner.

With the introduction of our youth education programs in 2015 our staff hosted dozens of hands on classes to help students understand the importance of being a responsible pet owner.

Many youth clubs, like Project Gidget, have been formed after guided tours of the shelter to help the animals of IVHS & SPCA.
